Remote Monitoring & Diagnostic Technician I or II | Clipper Wind | Cedar Rapids, IA SUMMARY This position is responsible for the monitoring, collection, and analysis of operational data from Clipper Windpower turbines and wind projects. Primary responsibilities focus on turbine mechanical or electrical troubleshooting via web-based data and real-time command of turbine functions. This position is also responsible for the early identification of issues ultimately resulting in the prompt and timely response of on-site maintenance technicians. Turbine Remote Monitoring Technicians also interact with internal and external customers to provide real-time troubleshooting support for turbine issues. QUALIFICATIONS To perform the job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS The ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures, raw data, or mechanical instructions. The ability to write detailed reports, business correspondence, and action summaries as a result of measures taken by RMC technicians or field personnel. The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, and customers. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define issues, collect raw data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form, and act appropriately in response to all data gathered. EDUCATION Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS Working in and around wind turbine projects can be a very demanding occupation. Employees must be able to perform the following.
TRAVEL Initial travel to wind farm sites for training, familiarization, and orientation to large wind turbine generators.
